Former IAS officer Braj Raj Sharma appointed as IIOJK EC

Srinagar, July 14, 2023 (PPI-OT): Lieutenant Governor of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, today, appointed Braj Raj Sharma, a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, as the Election Commissioner of the territory. An order issued by the General Administration Department, headed by the Lieutenant Governor, said Braj Raj Sharma will hold the position till he attains the age of sixty five years.

“The appointment of Election Commissioner shall take effect from the date he assumes the charge. The terms and conditions of his appointment shall be notified by the Government subsequently,” the order reads.
