Gas Supply to Compressed Natural Gas stations to remain suspended till Saturday morning

Karachi, January 08, 2014 (PPI-OT): Contrary to the earlier announcement that gas supply will be resumed to CNG stations from 8 am Friday January 10, 2014, after a 24-hour closure, it has been decided by the SSGC management to shut off supplies to the CNG outlets for another 24 hours i.e. till 8 am on Saturday, January 11, 2014.

The management was compelled to take this decision because of further drop in temperature of 2-3 Degree Celsius since January 7 which has resulted in further increase in demand for gas among the domestic customers.

SSGC is committed towards ensuring uninterrupted gas supply to all its customers. However the Company is forced to continue with gas supply suspension for another 24 hours because of bitterly cold weather conditions especially in Sindh and Balochistan.

In addition, for rationalizing gas consumption across the board, SSGC abides by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC)-approved Gas Load Management Plan that places first priority to the domestic customers followed by provision to other sectors including commercial, power, industrial, fertilizer and CNG sectors.
