Government committed to welfare of minorities: Prime Minister

Islamabad, June 14, 2012 (PPI-OT): A delegation of minorities led by Dr Paul Bhatti, Advisor to Prime Minister on National Harmony, called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani at his Parliament House Chamber today and assured their full support to the democratic government for strengthening democracy and upholding Constitution.

The delegation complimented the Prime Minister for keeping up legacy of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto by promoting policy of reconciliation and working for welfare of the masses.

The delegation appreciated the Prime Minister for allocating development funds to parliamentarians of all political parties. Regretting the un-parliamentary behaviour of PML(N), the delegates said that opposition should keep in view the norms of parliamentary democracy at the floor of the House.

The Prime Minister assured the minorities that the Government would continue to work for wellbeing of minorities as its top priority and the implementation of job quota for them will be ensured.

The members of the delegation included Mr Lal Chand MNA, Mr Ramesh Lal MNA, Mr Mahesh Kumar Malani MNA and Dr Khatu Mal Jeewan MNA.
