Islamabad, December 31, 2020 (PPI-OT):Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan says the government is focusing on alternate resources to produce cheaper power to meet growing needs of the country. Talking to Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Khalid Khursheed Khan in Islamabad, he said the federal government will continue to cooperate with GB government for timely implementation of various projects.
Omar Ayub Khan said the government intends to harness local resources particularly water, minerals and tourism sectors to enable the area to generate to its own revenue which will contribute to the economic development of GB. The Chief Minister apprised Omar Ayub Khan about the development of ongoing energy projects in GB to maintain fuel and electricity requirement of the area.
