Government has no intention to bring any ordinance that hurts feelings of people; Senate told

Islamabad, January 11, 2021 (PPI-OT):The House has started discussion on a motion moved by Opposition Members regarding alarming propensity of the Federal government to usurp and subvert Parliamentary and Provincial rights guaranteed in the constitution by attempting to rule the country by ordinances, especially the current case of attempted illegal land grab of Sindh and Baluchistan’s island resources.

Initiating the debate on the motion, Senator Mir Kabir Muhammad Shahi of National Party said federal government would not be allowed to take over the islands of the two provinces at any cost through a presidential ordinance.

General retired Abdul Qayyum of PML-N criticized the government for not bringing Ordinances in the Upper House for approval.

Minister for Law and Justice Farogh Naseem while replying to the questions raised by the members said that the government has no intention to bring any ordinance to hurt the feelings of the people but there is confusion due to the 18th amendment.

The minister said that the government is working under the constitution of the country. He strongly condemned the tragic incident which took place in Mach area of Balochistan. The minister said that India is involved in destabilizing the country especially in Balochistan but he is proud of great Balochi people for making its nefarious designs unsuccessful.

Leader of the House in the Senate Dr Shahzad Waseem said that Pakistan has all that abilities and resources through which it can make the future of its people bright. Speaking on a motion, he said that the government is striving to protect the islands and it will also benefit province Sindh.

He said it will also provide job opportunities to the people of Sindh and Balochistan which will definitely leave positive impact. Dr Shahzad Waseem said this step will also generate revenue for the country. He appealed the opposition to come forward and serve the country as it is the need of the hour.

Former Chairman Senate and Senator of PPP Raza Rabbani said dialogue should be initiated at all the state institutions to remove the smokescreen from the sky.
