Governor appreciates Hilal-e-Ahmer’s relief work

Karachi: Sindh Governor Dr.Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan has appreciated relief services being carried out by the philanthropists and welfare organizations in rain affected areas of the province.

He said that many organizations were doing much work on ground and the affectees, got relief from their work.

He was talking to a delegation of Hilal-e Ahmer here Friday. The delegation led by Chairman, Hilal-e-Ahmer Sardar Yaseen Malik had called on him at Governor house on the occasion of dispatching consignment of medicines for rains hit-people.

They informed the Governor, who is also President of the organization’s Sindh Branch, about relief activities in the affected areas.

They informed that Hilal-e-Ahmer has set up 261 relief camps in Badin, 391 in Dadu, 147 in Mirpurkhas, 432 in Benazirabad, 108 in Tharparkar, 7 in Thatta while 137 in Tandoallahyar districts.

They said that the organization has sent a rapid assessment team to review situation in affected areas and chalk out further plan of action in this regard.

Hilal-e-Ahmer has also installed water purification plants for the affectees.

The Governor informed the delegation that branches of the organization from different countries including Denmark, Canada and UAE are also sending relief consignment which will be received soon.
