Indian Forces Kill 10 Maoists in Chhattisgarh Operation

New Delhi, In a significant operation in Chhattisgarh, Indian security forces have killed 10 Maoists, intensifying efforts against the armed insurgents in the central Indian state.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the confrontation occurred in Narayanpur district where forces engaged and fatally shot a group of Maoists. This marks the second major operation against Maoist fighters in Chhattisgarh within the last month, following an earlier action in mid-April that resulted in the death of 29 insurgents.

The Maoists, who have waged a long-standing battle for autonomy, claim to represent the interests of poor farmers and landless laborers, advocating for land rights and a share of profits from the region’s rich mineral resources. The Indian government, however, considers the Maoist insurgency as the most severe internal security challenge facing the country, with active insurgent cells primarily in the central and eastern regions.
