Govt continues to implement int’l agreements: Murtaza Solangi

Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi says the caretaker government respects the international financial agreements and will continue to implement them in true letter and spirit.

He was addressing a news conference in Islamabad along with Caretaker Minister for Finance Dr Shamshad Akhtar, Minister for Energy Muhammad Ali, and Minister for Industry and Production Gohar Ijaz, after the first session of two-day meeting of Special Investment Facilitation Council.

The minister said the government is taking steps to reduce its expenditure and to promote investments in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Caretaker Minister for Finance said the government intends to enhance social safety net amidst structural adjustments.

She said the government is making concerted efforts to augment macroeconomic stability. She said our priority is to ensure supply of energy to industry sector.

Replying to a question Caretaker Minister for Commerce and Industries said it is the time to open market for raw materials to make industry viable.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Energy Muhammad Ali said efforts are also underway to reduce line losses in electricity sector.
