Habib Bank Limited goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Karachi, October 28, 2019 (PPI-OT): October is observed as Pinktober internationally as a breast cancer awareness month. According to the World Health Organization, it is the most common form of cancer in women and 1 in 8 women is diagnosed with it. As an institution that is a strong proponent of diversity and equality in the workplace, Habib Bank Limited (HBL) feels strongly about creating awareness about this disease.

As an ode to the women who are fighting to survive and to show solidarity to those who have lost the war against cancer, the leading financial institution illuminated its iconic HBL Plaza, I.I Chundrigar and HBL Tower, Clifton in Pink throughout 25th-26th October 2019.

As a responsible and prominent leader, HBL considers this its responsibility towards the people of Pakistan. Furthermore, awareness sessions were conducted throughout all offices for the staff. Professional doctors curated the sessions to help women understand the risks associated with breast cancer.

They even shared techniques on how to identify the lumps/tumours and shared the importance of self-examination and regular checkups. The doctors also urged women to share their learnings with family and friends. To further support this cause, HBL hosted Pink Day in which all employees were encouraged to wear pink to create awareness for the cause, participated by men and women employees equally.

Pioneers like HBL have always contributed to Pakistan not only economically but also in highlighting social causes and concerns. As a responsible and renowned name, HBL has shown that sometimes a little effort goes a long way. Kudos to HBL and its employees for their support towards this battle!
