Helpline 1093 to be made more effective: Syed Nasir Hussain Shah 

Karachi, February 12, 2020 (PPI-OT):Sindh Minister for Information, Local Government, Housing, Town Planning, Religious Affairs, Forest and Wildlife, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that Helpline 1093 would be made more effective so that people having complaints against any of the institutions of local government could register their complains without any hardship. Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that the sole purpose of establishing Helpline 1093 was to get awareness about people’s complaints regarding local government institutions and to address those complains immediately.

 

He said this during his visit to the office of Helpline 1093 on Wednesday. Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that if people had any complaint regarding the inefficiency of Karachi Municipal Corporation, Solid Waste Management Board, all District Municipal Corporations, Union Councils, Karachi Water and Sewerage Boarg and also about the problems they were facing owing to stray dogs in their areas, they could lodge a complaint on Helpline 1093.

 

The provincial Minister for Information and Local Government said that in order to facilitate people further, the software of Helpline 1093 had been updated. Now people would face no difficulty in registering their complaints, he added. He said that efficient and honest officers had been appointed in the Helpline 1093, who were doing their duty with great effectiveness to provide relief to the people. Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had instructed time and again that maximum relief should be provided to the people and no compromise was accepted in this matter. Earlier, when Syed Nasir Hussain Shah reached the office of Helpline 1093, Secretary Local Government Roshan Ali Sheikh briefed him in detail about the functioning of Complaint Center.

 

Meanwhile, while presiding over a meeting to review the progress of the Billion Tree Tsunami Program, Sindh Minister for Information, Local Government, Housing, Town Planning, Religious Affairs, Forest and Wildlife, Nasir Hussain Shah said that work towards urban forestry would be done expeditiously. The Provincial Minister said that all available resources would be utilized in this regard. The meeting reviewed in detail the progress on the projects related to roadside forestry, canal-side forestry, and urban forestry.

 

During the meeting it was also decided that for time being all the funding would be diverted on the Urban Forestry in progress along with Lyari River. Addressing the meeting, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that Green Sindh was included in the top most priorities of the Sindh government and in this regard comprehensive policy would be formulated soon. The provincial Minister for Information and Local Government said that the first Urban Forest would be built in Karachi, which would be expanded to other parts of the province gradually.
