IAF trainer aircraft crashes in Karnataka

Bengaluru, June 01, 2023 (PPI-OT):A trainer aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed, today (Thursday), in the Indian state of Karnataka. The IAF aircraft during a routine training sortie crashed near Bogapura village in Chamrajnagar district of Karnataka.

The two pilots, including one lady pilot, escaped and ejected themselves from flight before the crash, Indian media reported. Three people were killed after a MiG-21 fighter aircraft of the IAF crashed in Hanumangarh city of the Rajasthan state on May 8, 2023.

Two weeks after the crash, the IAF decided to ground the aging fleet of MiG-21 aircraft which have been involved in over 400 accidents since their induction.
