Karachi: The Board of Directors of ICI Pakistan Limited (ICI) has approved the installation of two coal fired boilers for its soda ash plant at Khewra with an investment of over Rs 2 billion.
This major investment is focused on addressing the energy deficit faced by the Company due to deteriorating supply of natural gas, affecting plant output and efficiencies. The Company plans to install boilers for steam generation based on state of the Coal fired Technology.
This project is expected to be completed and commissioned in 19 months.
With the commissioning of the project the soda ash plant having a capacity to produce 350,000 tons per year will be better placed to serve its customers.
