Identification of developmental schemes would be carried out with mutual consultations of the people: Minister for Information

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Culture, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has once again declared that identification of developmental schemes and its implementation would be carried out with mutual consultations and in consent of the people at large irrespective of likes and dislikes in his constituency.

This, he stated, while talking to a representative delegation of Jabba Thar and Jabba Khushk of his constituency PK-12 led by Haji Zarnab Gul at Peshawar on Friday. Members of the developmental committee of PK-12 Tameez ud Din Khattak, Mian Hamid Saeed and Asghar Khattak were also present on this occasion.

Members of the delegation besides apprising the minister of their grievances and problems also complained of ignoring their villages in allocation of developmental funds in the past.

The Information Minister maintained that during the past three years, he allocated funds to all the union councils and villages of his constituency on equal basis and no injustices made in this regard.

He, however, said, he would investigate the matter adding if it really get lesser funds from its share, it would be compensated in the coming two years.

Mian Iftikhar continued that the present elected government was of the people and what it was doing, was for the welfare and betterment of the people. He called upon the people to practically become part of the developmental process as due to present critical situation. He individually could not reach to each and every area of his constituency. He clarified, there would be no compromise on the standard of developmental works and priority would be given to collective works.

The Information Minister has directed the authorities concerned to immediately restart work on the small dams at Jabba Thar and the road going to the said dam should also be repaired by the contractors as it was damaged by the machinery of the dam. He added that BHU of Jabba Khushk has been completed and could be functional within few days.

The minister pointed out that during the last three years, Rs. 1.7 million for the developmental fund and Rs. 1.2 million in electricity sector have been provided to every union council each year. However, if there were some problems, funds would be arranged for it.
