Karachi, In an effort to bolster security along the highways of Sindh, Inspector General Ghulam Nabi Memon chaired a detailed review meeting focusing on the deployment and enhancement of the Sindh Smart Surveillance System (S4). This initiative aims to streamline operations and improve the detection and prevention of criminal activities at key entry and exit points of cities throughout the province.

IG Memon highlighted the S4 project’s central role in crime prevention and law enforcement’s capacity strengthening. He emphasized that the system would not only deter crime but also instill a persistent fear of apprehension among potential offenders due to increased digital surveillance.
The meeting also addressed the need for continuous training for police officers stationed at internal and external routes and toll plazas under the S4 system, focusing on the protocols of highway operations and mandatory use of bulletproof jackets during duty. Furthermore, IG Memon announced that exceptional performance by officers would be recognized with cash rewards and certificates of appreciation.
Additional measures discussed included the provision of modern search devices, vehicles, and other essential equipment to enhance the effectiveness of the police force. DIGIT confirmed that training for staff deployed on the S4 project had been completed and that modern cameras and other equipment had been supplied to aid in their duties.
