IIOJK High Court quashes detention of youth order under black law

Srinagar, July 12, 2023 (PPI-OT): The High Court of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has quashed the detention under black law Public Safety Act (PSA) of a youth, Abdul Hussain Ganai, in Srinagar. High Court Justice Sanjay Dhar after considering the arguments from both sides observed that the non-consideration or unreasonably delayed consideration of the representation violates the Constitution and quashed the detention of Abdul Hussain Ganaie under black law.

Such non-compliance renders the detention unsustainable in law, he added. The detenue, Abdul Hussain Ganaie, is directed to be released from custody immediately, the court order said.
