Imports of auto parts from India likely – Alfalah Securities Limited

Karachi, November 27, 2012 (PPI-OT): The government of Pakistan is likely to allow import of auto parts from India from January 2013.

According to Alfalah Securities Limited, it would let Pak Suzuki Motor Company Ltd. (PSMC) to resume production of Alto as the parts meeting Euro‐II standards are available in India. PSMC had discontinued production of Alto in July 2012, as it converted all models to Euro‐II standards. PSMC had earlier requested the government to allow imports of at least 159 parts from India. The resumption of the production of Alto would add considerable economic benefit to PSMC as it being a successful car model for the masses.
