Imran Khan says that 2014 would be defining year for Pakistan

Peshawar, January 05, 2014 (PPI-OT): Chairman PTI Imran Khan has said that 2014 would be the defining year for Pakistan adding that the fate of the country has started changing with the on-going development in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.

He said, the entire country was looking towards the performance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government adding that it should double its efforts for bringing about a visible change into the lives of the common man.

This, he said, while addressing as chief guest at a briefing held at a local hotel in Islamabad on Sunday on Reforms Initiatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Proince. Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Chief Secretary Muhammad Shahzad Arbab, Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Asad Qaiser, Minister for Education Muhammad Atif, Minister Health Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, MNA Jehangir Tareen and a large number of parliamentarians and party leaders of the PTI were present on the occasion.

Addressing the briefing, Imran Khan said that for the first time in the history of the country, powers were being developed to the village level in order to change life of the common man. Paying rich tributes to performance of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and his team members, Imran Khan said that a very outstanding work was being done by them which needed to be shown to the people of the entire country.

He said the KPK government was facing a very serious challenge and therefore it would have to double its efforts and make a scoreboard on which its every months performance should be written. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s outstanding performance would become the base for winning the next general elections throughout the country.

He said, the KPK was very rich in natural resources. He suggested that KPK government needed to make a clear plan about the treasure of mineral resources so that it could be laid before the foreign investors.

Imran Khan said that he would bring foreign investors to the province as well as mobilize the overseas Pakistanis to make investment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. After the investment in the province, opportunities of employment would help bring a meaningful change in lives of the unemployed youth.

He told the chief minister that he would do a job for the KPK that no other person would be able to do. Imran Khan on this occasion requested the chief minister to pass a resolution in the KPK Assembly for acquisition Fort Bala Hisar that could be made a point of tourism and central point of provincial capital.

He also appreciated the role of bureaucracy saying that no developmental work could be carried out without seeking its support. He said it was good to motivate the bureaucracy instead of adopting a harsh attitude with it.
