Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa says his government has cut off roots of corruption

Peshawar, January 05, 2014 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has said that his government has cut off roots of corruption to a great extent the impact of which could be felt in police stations, patwar khanas, and other government offices in the province. He said that his government took some time in lawmaking etc however, in the next two or three months visible changes would be seen and felt in all walks of life in the province.

These views he expressed during a briefing on reforms initiatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa held at a local hotel in Islamabad on Sunday. Chairman PTI Imran Khan, Chief Secretary KPK Muhammad Shahzad Arbab, Speaker KPK Assembly Asad Qaiser, MNA Jehangir Tareen and a large number of other party leaders were present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that for the first time in the history of the country, political interference has stopped in government departments adding that the IGP has acknowledged this change. He said his government was working hard with sincerity to all aspects of life and was trying to purge the rotten system.

He said that activities of police force and other government servants were being monitored adding that anti terrorism force has been formed which would work as an intelligence agency as well as a force during emergency.

He said, Patwar Khanas were the most notorious places for corruption adding that after his government’s steps every patwari and all other officers have ben made bound to take oath for not having taken gratification in any case. He said that fake medicines and adulteration in food items were being strictly checked.

He said that the culture of taking 15 to 20 percent commission has been stopped. He said the people had voted his government to power in the name of change therefore, we would do so at any cost. Regarding encroachments, the chief minister said that the provincial capital Peshawar had been cleared and the other districts would also be cleansed soon. On this occasion, the KPK Minister for Education Muhammad Atif and Minister Health Shaukat Ali Yousafzai also briefed the participants about the steps taken in their portfolios.
