India eyes ‘juvenile justice act’ to prevent teenagers’ uprising

New Delhi, February 16, 2021 (PPI-OT): Fearing another uprising against India’s illegal moves in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Modi-led fascist Indian government has forewarned Kashmiri people “to desist from using children for stone-pelting, as they will now receive strictest punishment under the Juvenile Justice Act (JJA).”

In a statement issued by the Indian Ministry of Personnel, Minister of State Jitendra Singh insisted on strict implementation of the JJA in IIOJK under “which those using children for stone-pelting and other illegal activities will now face rigorous imprisonment of up to seven years”.

“The JJA has now become applicable in JandK, following the abrogation of Article 370,” the ministry said in the statement, which noted that the minister was briefed about the law against using children as ‘stone-pelters’. According to the official statement, Jitendra Singh also emphasised the need for strict implementation of the JJA.
