India using force to stifle dissenting voices

Srinagar, February 29, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference has said that India has unleashed terror-based policies to stifle the voice for freedom in the territory. The Hurriyet in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, condemned the arrest of APHC Secretary General Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Hurriyet leader Nayeem Ahmad Khan terming it as the worst example Indian state terrorism. It cautioned the people that Peoples Democratic Party had been founded by Indian secret agencies to sabotage the ongoing freedom struggle in the occupied territory.

Hurriyet leader Muhammad Musaddiq Aadil addressing a public gathering at Doroo in Sopore paid glowing tributes to the Kashmiri youth for sacrificing their lives for the Kashmir cause. Other Hurriyet leaders including Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Bilal Siddiqi, Nisar Ahmad Rathar, Hakeem Abdur Rasheed, Zafar Akbar Butt, Javed Ahmad Mir, Iqbal Mir, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Aasiya Andrabi, Zamruda Habib, Yasmeen Raja and Farida Behanji in their separate statements urged world community to facilitate plebiscite in Kashmir for settlement of the dispute.

A protest demonstration organized by Jammu and Kashmir Youth Civil Society was held at Press Colony in Srinagar against the surge in Indian atrocities and continued illegal detention of Hurriyet leaders including Masarrat Aalam Butt. The participants denounced the arrest of Kashmiri intellectual Professor Abbud Rehman Gilani and students union leader of Jawaharlal Nehru University Kanihar Kumar on sedition charges in India.

Several teachers were injured and over a dozen were arrested when police used brute force on around 500 teachers, who took out a march at Residency Road in Srinagar to press for their demands. Meanwhile, Hindu extremists at a meeting of Sangh Parivar in Agra asked Hindu fanatics to pick up guns against Muslims of India. The speakers equated Muslims to demons and descendants of Ravana, and warned of a final battle against them. Among those who were present on the dais were Indian Union Ministers and BJP central leaders.
