Srinagar, In recent security operations across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian forces have arrested five youths in various districts, intensifying tensions in the region.
According to Kashmir Media Service, personnel conducted a cordon and search operation in the Sopore area of Baramulla district, where they arrested one youth, alleging his association as an overground worker for a pro-freedom organization. Concurrently, the cyber branch of the Indian police detained Sheikh Muqadas Rafiq, Junaid Hussain, Iflah Mir, and Naveed Mir in separate incidents across Srinagar and Pulwama districts. Authorities claim these arrests were due to the individuals’ involvement in circulating prohibited content and engaging in harassment via social media platforms.
These arrests highlight the continuing stringent measures enforced by Indian security forces in the region, which critics argue exacerbate the already strained relations between local populations and government authorities.
