Islamabad traders protest against attempts to revoke art 35-A

Srinagar, August 03, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, members of Traders’ Association Islamabad held a protest demonstration against the attempts to revoke Article 35-A of the Indian Constitution. Members of business community under the banner of Traders’ Association Islamabad assembled at Lal Chowk in Islamabad town and marched towards Court Road while shouting slogans and holding placards.

The demonstrations were held in response to a call by representatives of 27 Kashmir-based trade organizations, which jointly formed an umbrella body recently, and announced a week-long protest programme until August 7. The body has called for protest across Kashmir to protect the constitutional provision from any tinkering which will dilute the special rights enjoyed by the permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of the Constitution of India.
