Japan reiterates grant assistance worth Rs 2.5 Bn for Pakistan to respond pandemic COVID 19

Islamabad, April 23, 2020 (PPI-OT): H.E Mr. MATSUDA Kuinori, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan called on Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Mr. Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar in his office at Ministry of Economic Affairs in this afternoon. The Ambassador apprised the Minister that Government of Japan has extended grant assistance of worth Rs 2.5 billion for Pakistan to curb the COVID 19 Pandemic to assist Pakistani people to fight against the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Japanese Ambassador said that this support will bolster Pakistan’s capability to contain virus and recover the economy.

 

He also expressed the hope that bilateral economic ties between Pakistan and Japan would be enhanced especially in field of export and import substitute industries in future. Federal Minister thanked and appreciated the Government of Japan and People of Japan for their support with assurance of extending facilitation for more meaningful cooperation in testing time of the Pandemic.

 

The Minister expressed that Pakistan valued close and friendly relation with Japan that would be strengthen in multiple fields in the future. Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Ambassador expressed their strong commitment to further the cooperation for Pandemic related emergency activities.
