JKLF reiterates demand for return of mortal remains of Butt, Guru

Srinagar, May 11, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has reiterated the demand for return of the mortal remains of Kashmiri leaders, Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru.

The JKLF Vice Chairman, Bashir Ahmad Butt, addressing a rally at Jenab Sahab in Srinagar said that when the prisoners of Pakistan and India were murdered, their bodies were within no time returned to their families, the mortal remains of Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru buried in the New Delhi’s Tihar Jail were not yet returned to their families.

He said that the Kashmiris were staging protests to demand return of the mortal remains of their leaders, whereabouts of thousand of those subjected to enforced disappearance and release of all Kashmiri detainees. “We are also protesting against awarding life sentences to innocent youth,” he added.

Meanwhile, a delegation of the JKLF leaders visited Soura Institute of Medical Sciences and enquired about the health of Sajjad Ahmad Butt of Wattargam, Rafiabad, who was injured in the firing by the Indian troops on February 10.

Besides others, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Showakat Ahmad Bakhshi, Muhammad Yasin Butt and Zahoor Ahmad Butt accompanied advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt.
