Joint Statement By BP and the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee

NEW ORLEANS, April 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — BP and the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee (PSC) confirmed that the U.S. District Court has today extended the deadline for Settlement Agreement submission through 8:30 AM CDT on Wednesday, April 18. This extension is intended to allow BP and the PSC more time to complete the extensive documentation required to finalize the two Agreements-in-Principle that were announced on March 2.

BP and the PSC are finalizing two separate Settlement Agreements — one resolving economic and property damage claims; the other resolving medical claims — that will fairly compensate people and businesses affected by the Deepwater Horizon accident and oil spill.

A further announcement will be made as appropriate.
