Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry condemns attack on Rasheed Godil, demands prompt action against culprits

Karachi, August 18, 2015 (PPI-OT): The leadership of Businessmen Group (BMG) and Office Bearers of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) have expressed deep concerns over the attack on senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Former MNA Abdul Rasheed Godil, who received critical injuries while his driver was killed after unidentified armed men opened fire on his vehicle in Bahadurabad locality.

In a statement issued, Chairman Businessmen Group and Former President KCCI Siraj Kassam Teli, Vice Chairmen BMG Tahir Khaliq, Zubair Motiwala, Haroon Farooki and Anjum Nisar, President KCCI Iftikhar Ahmed Vohra, Senior Vice President Muhammad Ibrahim Kasumbi, Vice President KCCI Agha Shahab Ahmed Khan and KCCI Managing Committee members pointed out that Rasheed Godil, who is also a businessman from real estate sector, is an old BMGian who was associated with Businessmen Group before joining Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

They, while terming the incident as ‘cowardly terrorist attack’, expressed deep sympathies with the family members and prayed for early recovery of Rasheed Godil. BMG leadership and KCCI Office Bearers said that it was a matter of grave concern that armed gunmen fearlessly attacked Rasheed Godil in broad daylight in a densely populated area which indicates some serious flaws in security situation of the city. They urged the Law Enforcing Agencies and Sindh government thoroughly review the incidents and take prompt action against individuals responsible for this heinous crime.
