Karachi Electric Supply Company condemns firing at complaint crew, sabotage

Karachi: The Karachi Electric Supply Company has condemned the incident of direct firing by miscreants at its complaints crew in Saddar and said the trouble makers had now been after the life of public serving employees. On Tuesday night, while KESC complaint crew was working to repair a fault at Jabbar Plaza in Saddar the masked miscreants opened fire at the crew members who fortunately escaped unhurt but the MTL driver received bullet wounds and the MTL was damaged by the gunshots. Another repair team working to rectify cable fault at World Call near Zainab Market was surrounded by miscreants who damaged the vehicle and beat up the driver.

The KESC drivers and employees who were injured in these attacks and whose mobile phones and currency were also snatched by the miscreants include: Muhammad Ramzan, Shakeel Ahmed Baloch, Ali Asghar, Ghulam Dayar Khan, Noorani Gul, Muhammad Javaid, Nawaz Ali, Farooq, Muhammad Raees, Dost Muhammad, Shahnawaz, Tariq Nawaz and Asif Siddiqui The KESC offices at Civic Centre and Training Centre buildings are almost in-operative as the miscreants have restrained the officers and the staff to enter into these buildings. The utility’s Central Stores has also been made non-operational by the miscreants who also threatened of dire consequences in case of any activity. The KESC has condemned these acts of sabotage and asked the saner elements of the society to stop this madness and lawlessness being exercised on the excuse of union politics.
