Karachi: The Karachi Electric Supply Company has strongly condemned several incidents of physical attack on teams of employees by union miscreants at Central Stores and various locations while attending to their official responsibilities.
The law enforcement agencies personnel present at all occasions did not move to abort the attacks but watched silently. The KESC has demanded immediate action against the miscreants taking law into their hands in direct violation of Sindh High Court orders.
The union miscreants attacked KESC maintenance team during the course of withdrawal of material from Central Stores and severely beat them up in the presence of law enforcement personnel who silently let the incident take place and did not offer any resistance.
Those who were badly injured in the attack included Assistant Engineer Mr Imran Safdar, Lineman Itrat, Ali Karkun, driver Muhammad Rashid Mughal and two security guards Abdul Aziz and Mujeeb Ahmed.
The union miscreants attacked another maintenance team in SITE area while attending to public complaints. A manager and several other employees received serious injuries in the attack. same has happened to our team. Law enforcement personnel present on the occasion did not move to stop the attackers.
The law enforcement authorities also declined to post permanent security at Central Stores when KESC management sought their protection.
The KESC has expressed great distress and anguish over the reluctant and half willing implementation of Sindh High Court order of June 23 on the part of provincial government and law enforcement agencies and has said that this attitude amounts to contempt of court. This is also proving detrimental to the writ of the government. The KESC demanded immediate strict action against union miscreants.
