Karachi Metropolitan Corporation carrying out operation against encroachments

Karachi, February 14, 2014 (PPI-OT): KMC Metropolitan Commissioner Samiuddin Siddiqui has said that in compliance with the orders of Sindh High Court, full fledged operation against encroachments would be carried out in Sohrab Goth in a few days in this connection all arrangements have been made.

He said this while chairing a meeting held on removal of encroachments. The meeting was attended by Sr. Director Municipal Services Masood Alam, S.P Gadap Rahib Khan, Director Anti-Encroachment Mazhar Khan, Legal Advisor Syed Sultan Ahmed and Assistant Commissioner Gulzar Hijri Abdul Khaliq.

Samiuddin Siddiqui said that encroachments established both sides from Sohrab Goth to Tool Plaza would be removed and all illegal patharas, cabins, carts, various types of out of order vehicles, hotels and shops would be removed during this operation.

He said that policemen along with armed vehicles would be deployed for security during operation whereas letters have been sent to D.G Rangers for deployment of rangers.

He said that complete security arrangements would be made due to sensitive area. Traffic flow from Sohrab Goth to Tool Plaza would improve after removal of encroachments.

He said that KMC was removing encroachments in various areas of the city and this campaign against encroachments would carry on and citizens would be provided with travelling facilities. Encroachments around shopping centers, markets and bazaars would also be removed which would provide citizens with facilities and they would also be able to walk on footpaths easily.
