Kashmir dispute is a reality: Prof Ghani Butt

Srinagar, May 10, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference and the Chairman of Muslim Conference Jammu and Kashmir, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt has said that Kashmir dispute is a reality and it has been the main cause of increase in the defence budget of India and Pakistan.Professor Abdul Ghani Butt addressing a daylong delegate session of his party at Botango in Sopore said that Kashmir belonged to the Kashmiris and they themselves were the masters of their destiny. He said that the Hurriyet leadership was not against the dialogue but it should be meaningful and result-oriented.

Professor Abdul Ghani Butt said that the just settlement of the Kashmir dispute could bring progress and prosperity in the region besides establishment of cordial relations between Pakistan and India. He deplored that despite the Tashkent, Shimla and Lahore declarations, Indian rulers were not ready to realize the fact of Kashmir dispute that showed their intellectual bankruptcy.

The APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who could not participate in the function because of his illegal house detention by the authorities, in his telephonic address said that the continued restrictions on the political activities of Hurriyet leaders had exposed the tall claims of the puppet rulers regarding providing of political space to the Hurriyet leadership.

He informed the people that the present puppet administration-led by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was promoting the anti-Kashmir agenda of BJP and RSS in the territory. He said that the PDP-BJP coalition in the territory wanted to change the Muslim majority into minority by settling non-Kashmiris in the Valley.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that the principled stance of Hurriyet Conference over Kashmir dispute was clear as it believed that the settlement of Kashmir dispute was inevitable in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people through giving them their right to self-determination as their liberation struggle could not be suppressed through repression.

APHC leaders, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Engineer Hilal Ahmad War, Mohammad Musaddiq Aadil, Ghulam Nabi Najar, Abdur Rasheed Untoo and Abdul Manan Bukhari also addressed the function while other leaders including Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Ghulam Nabi War, Muzaffar Rizvi and Jaffar Kashmiri were present on the occasion. Meanwhile, the APHC spokesman in a statement strongly denounced house arrest of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq terming it as the frustration of the puppet authorities.
