Chandigarh, Sukhbir Singh Badal, leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), has accused the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of seizing control over various Sikh gurdwaras across India, an action he claims is orchestrated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to undermine the Sikh community and weaken the SAD.
According to Kashmir Media Service, during a campaign event for the SAD candidate in Punjab, Sukhbir alleged that the BJP has a calculated strategy to create divisions among communities and destabilize elected governments in states not under BJP rule. “The RSS, supported by the BJP, has taken control over Sikh Takhts at Patna and Nanded as well as the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee,” Sukhbir stated, highlighting what he perceives as a systematic approach to dilute the influence of the SAD and other opposition groups within the Sikh community.
These allegations come at a time of heightened political tension, with the BJP and its affiliates accused of extending their ideological influence over religious and cultural institutions in India.
