Kashmir is virtually reeling under military rule: Naqash

Srinagar, December 07, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) leader, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, has said that India has forcibly occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the aspirations of Kashmiri people in 1947 and has been staging election drama through its puppets to paint this forced occupation as democratic process to mislead the world community.

Mohammad Yousuf Naqash addressing a public meeting in Badgam said that in fact Kashmir was virtually reeling under military rule and that India’s forces and puppet administration were hand in glove in suppressing the ongoing liberation movement in the territory.

He said that former Indian Army Chief, General V k Singh’s recent revelations confirmed that the occupied territory was under military rule and Indian forces were suppressing the people of Kashmir and their legitimate movement. He said that India had martyred 500,000 Kashmiris regardless of age and gender since 1947 till date in the disguise of so-called democracy and tormented people were struggling for emancipation from the Indian occupation

The APHC leader maintained that people of Kashmir were politically struggling for achieving their birthright to self-determination but the occupation authorities were trying to curb their struggle through military might. He said that the Kashmiris’ innumerable and supreme sacrifices, which had highlighted the Kashmir dispute at the global level, would not be allowed to go waste.

Yousuf Naqash urged the people to boycott the forthcoming elections as they did not provide resolution of the Kashmir dispute, which could be resolved through tripartite talks in line with the relevant UN resolutions. He also condemned the continued illegal detention of Hurriyet leader and the Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League Masarrat Aalam Butt.
