Srinagar, September 19, 2013 (PPI-OT): Kashmir Centre for Social and Development Studies (KCSDS) has demanded immediate lifting of curfew in Shopian town and adjoining villages to ensure supply of essential commodities to the locals of the areas.
People of Shopian are facing acute shortage of food items and medicines due to restrict restrictions, KCSDS said in a statement.
“It has become apparent that the authorities are hell- bent on harassing Kashmiris into submission,” the statement said, adding “these dirty tactics are in turn strengthening the peoples’ resolve to fight for truth and justice.”
Heavy contingents of Indian Central Reserve Police Force and police are patrolling on the roads and streets to restrict people’s movement in the town.
