KP CM stresses need of rudimentary reforms in social welfare department

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has stressed the need of rudimentary reforms in social welfare department to streamline its activities to improve its overall performance.

Presiding over a meeting in Peshawar, he said that all the shelter homes across the province should be operationalized with the availability of all the basic facilities. 

The Chief Minister termed the establishment of Shelter Homes a pro-poor initiative of Prime Minister Imran Khan for the protection of the marginalized and vulnerable segment of society.

The meeting was informed that thirty one shelter homes have been established while eight more shelter homes will be set up in the province on permanent basis for which an agreement have been signed with Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal.

Mahmood Khan directed the social welfare department to devise a transparent mechanism for distribution of Zakat funds amongst deserving people.
