Lahore, May 16, 2023 (PPI-OT): Under the supervision of Capital City Police Officer Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana, the police have launched a comprehensive campaign against drug peddlers. As a result, a total of 4,014 individuals involved in drug peddling have been apprehended between January 1 and May 15, 2023.
According to the spokesman for the Lahore police, this crackdown has resulted in significant seizures of illicit substances. The confiscated contraband includes over 2,041 kilograms of charas, more than 38 kilograms of heroin, 16 kilograms of the drug ice, and over 40,000 liters of alcohol seized from criminals.
During this period, the police have registered 4,008 cases related to drug trafficking and have issued challans against 2,713 individuals implicated in illegal practices.
Furthermore, the spokesman emphasized that Station House Officers (SHOs) and circle officers have been directed to intensify their operations against drug peddling. These concerted efforts aim to establish a drug-free environment, safeguard the younger generations, and foster the development of a healthier society, concluded the spokesman.
