Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik Martyred in Tirah Valley Clash

Islamabad: Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik of the Pakistan Army has succumbed to injuries sustained during a firefight in the Tirah Valley, Khyber District, and was pronounced martyred today at the Combined Military Hospital in Peshawar.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the confrontation occurred last Friday when Pakistani security forces engaged with militants, identified as Khawarij, at three different locations within the valley. Lieutenant Malik heroically led his troops at one of the sites in Bagh, neutralizing four militants before being critically injured in the intense exchange of fire.

The commitment of the Pakistani security forces to eradicate the threat of terrorism is reinforced by such sacrifices, which underscore the bravery and dedication of officers like Lieutenant Malik. His funeral prayers were held in Peshawar, attended by the Corps Commander of Peshawar, family members, and numerous civil and military officials. Lieutenant Malik will be laid to rest in his hometown in the Attock district with full military honors, reflecting the nation’s deep respect and gratitude for his service.
