Mayor Karachi chairs meeting on Fayzee Rahamin Art Gallery and Aiwan-e-Riffaat

Karachi, January 20, 2018 (PPI-OT):Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said that all legal requirements will be taken into consideration in the making of Faizee Rehameen Art Gallery operational for holding of various recreation activities and hurdles in its construction project will also be removed. He said this in a meeting on Faizee Rehameen Art Gallery and Aiwan-e-Riffat. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Asghar Abbas Shaikh, senior director coordination Masood Alam, senior director Culture and Sports Saif Abbas, director technical to Mayor Karachi S.M Shakaib and other officers and consultant were also present on this occasion. Mayor Karachi said the construction work of this art gallery will be started after removal of legal obstacles. He said to officers to form a advisory committee that would work in this connection.

He said was an important cultural heritage of the city and this land was gifted by renowned personality of education and culture Begum Atiya Faizee to KMC for the citizens of Karachi and as sole trusty of this land KMC will under the trust deed continue to maintain and run this cultural center and organize cultural and literary activities here. The land and building of the Faizee Rehameen Art Gallery will only be utilized in accordance with the trust deed signed in 1952. He said a huge modern auditorium with the name of Aiwan-e-Riffat was also under construction with over 1800 seats adjacent to this gallery and this project will also be completed.
