Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony between USAID’s Assessment and Strengthening Program and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan on August 30, 2012 in Karachi

Karachi, August 29, 2012 (PPI-OT): The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between USAID’s Assessment and Strengthening Program (ASP) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) being held in Karachi on Thursday, August 30, 2012.

The MoU between ICAP and ASP-AiD aims at cooperation on financial accountability, transparency and promotion of good financial governance in the public/private and non-profit sectors of in Pakistan. The USAID and ICAP will work together towards improvement of quality of audit and non-audit services throughout Pakistan.

The event will highlight the significance of the profession of Chartered Accountancy, and how it can help boost economy and improve corporate governance in Pakistan. As ICAP embarks upon a much needed and an ambitious reform agenda, USAID’s multifaceted assistance at this point in time is not only very timely but also critical for the achievement of strategic priorities and targets set in ICAP’s current strategic plan.
