Minimum wages for adult unskilled and Juvenile workers is Rs 8,000 per month

Karachi, October 24, 2012 (PPI-OT): Secretary Labour Arif Elahi has said that Chief Minister Sindh announced the enhancement of the wages of unskilled workers from Rs.7000/- to Rs. 8000/- per month on 1st May 2012 on the occasion of Labour day. Besides this Sindh Minimum Wages Board has recommended the said wages for different categories of workers employed in 41 industries.

This he stated in a notification issued here. It is further stated that the scheduled of minimum rates of wages for the all adult unskilled and juvenile workers employed in all industrial/ commercial establishments , undertakings in the province of Sindh will be Rs.8000/- which are registered under any law and shall pay wages to the employees through cross cheque/ bank transfer.
