Minister for Information has reiterated the resolve of the government that despite obstacle of terrorism, economic and other activities

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Transport, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has reiterated the resolve of the government that despite obstacle of terrorism, economic and other activities would be continued and the terrorists would not be let succeeded in their nefarious designs of making the country destabilize financially and politically.

These views he expressed in a meeting held here with the delegation of All Pakistan Commercial Exporters Association of Rough and Unpolished Precious and Semi Precious Stones led by its President, Atif Rasheed Khwaja along with the association’s office bearers Haji Mamoor Khan, Mushtaq Ahmad, Shafi Muhammad, Parvez Ilahi Malik, Malik Asif Khan and Ibrar Sethi. Members of the delegation apprised the provincial minister about the Carpet Nagar Project, Survey of Land Mining, Establishment of Gems Training Institute, foreign courses of Gems Cutting and Polishing. Pakistan Gems and Minerals show and other related problems.

The Minister Information told the delegation that the provincial government has initiated a traditional vocational scheme for the promotion and development of local skills. Mian Iftikhar added that under this scheme, skilled persons of the province would be provided soft flexible loan so that they could be able to expand their business. As a result of which, job opportunities would be created and economy of the province would be also strengthened, he added. The Minister further said that the skilled persons concerning gem stones would be also benefited by this scheme.

Mian Iftikhar Hussain maintained that Almighty Allah has bestowed this province with the natural resources in abundance and to exploit these resources properly. It was need of the hour that we may work with full zeal and zest. He said that new technology would be adopted for the stability and strengthening of gems stone business and commercial export association would be fully supported for expansion of this business, he told.

The Minister assured the delegation that he will talk to the concerned authorities for the holding of annual exhibition of gems stones and for the solution of the other problems of the association, a meeting with the Chief Minister would be also arranged.
The delegation while thanking the honourable minister assured that they would play their due role in the progress and prosperity of the province as the development of this province is their long awaited desire.
