Mirwaiz forum denounces continued restrictions in Pulwama

Srinagar, December 19, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has strongly denounced the continued imposition of curfew in Pulwama district leaving the entire population confined to their homes. A spokesman of the Hurriyat forum in a statement issued in Srinagar said that after killing civilians including a teenager and an MBA graduate now the people of the area were not even allowed to visit bereaved families for condolences, which was brazen negation of all the principles of humanity.

The spokesman said by employing the military might, New Delhi can’t suppress the popular sentiments of the people of Kashmir. He said that over the past three decades thousands of people including youth, elderly and women had been killed in countless massacres. The spokesman hailed OIC’s concern over the prevailing situation in Kashmir and its demand for the constitution of a fact-finding team to visit Kashmir for assessing the ground situation and stated that it is high time for the world community to wake up and build pressure on Delhi to stop the bloodshed in Kashmir.

The spokesman strongly denounced the occupation authorities for confining Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at his Nigeen residence and stated that the move to cage Hurriyat leaders including Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Engineer Hilal Ahmed War and dozens of others was highly condemnable.

On the other hand, on the annual Urs of Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who is under house arrest for past few days has paid tributes to the top Islamic missionary and spiritual saint saying that he had dedicated his life for Islam and attracted people toward the peaceful religion by spreading the true message of Islam and by playing the role of a social reformer.
