Mobilink Bank Awarded ‘Best Microfinance Bank’ at Pakistan Banking Awards 2024

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Mobilink Bank has been recognized as the ‘Best Microfinance Bank’ at the Pakistan Banking Awards 2024. The accolade highlights the bank’s significant contributions to financial inclusion and digital empowerment in the country, showcasing its innovative approach to fintech solutions aimed at fostering a digitally prepared Pakistan.

According to Mobilink Bank, the award is a testament to the trust placed in the institution by millions of Pakistanis. Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz and Chairman of Mobilink Bank, emphasized the bank’s mission to uplift society through financial inclusion, particularly focusing on empowering women with necessary tools and resources for economic resilience and progress. Interim CEO Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary further noted the bank’s commitment to empowering small businesses and underserved communities through digital banking solutions, aiming to expand access and create lasting opportunities.

Mobilink Bank has made strides in financial inclusion by equipping over 20,000 women with financial and digital literacy through its Women Inspirational Network (WIN), with a goal to onboard 50,000 more by 2026 in collaboration with Care International Pakistan. The bank also advocates for women’s inheritance rights via a comprehensive awareness campaign and offers a digital inheritance calculator on its ‘DOST’ app to aid users in accurate share calculations.

The bank’s DOST App supports financial education by providing flexible learning opportunities, and its School of Learning has delivered over 83,000 hours of training to enhance digital skills. Through the National Financial Literacy Program, it reached 2,780 rural beneficiaries, including a significant number of women, earning the ‘Best NFLP Team Award’ from the State Bank of Pakistan. Mobilink Bank’s initiatives and collaborations reflect its dedication to creating a digitally inclusive and future-ready financial ecosystem in Pakistan.
