Modi should take steps for Kashmir settlement: Yasin Malik

Srinagar, December 20, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik has said that that the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi should accept the birthright of millions of humans living in Kashmir and take courageous steps for settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute. Mohammad Yasin Malik addressing a mammoth gathering at Soibugh in Budgam, today, said the whole world knows that Kashmir is a disputed territory and a constant threat to the peace, prosperity and stability of the south Asian region but world powers for their trade and economical benefits and interest with India seem to maintain criminal silence.

He said that India and the rest of the world should know that without permanent peace and stability trade and economy would also keep suffering. Stressing upon the need of resolving Kashmir dispute, Yasin Malik said that this only can guarantee the permanent peace and prosperity of the region. He said Kashmiris have and are constantly rendering valuable sacrifices for their freedom but we need to safeguard these sacrifices too. He said that real face of every pro-India party and politician had been exposed.

“We all know that their only job is to strengthen the illegal military occupation of Indian on Kashmir and provide legal cover to Indian forces and army here, so we all should remain away from their hypocritical politics and refrain from participating in their meetings and rallies.” Earlier, Mohammad Yasin Malik was accorded a warm welcome when reached Budgam to participate in public programme. A mammoth rally was taken out from Warpora Nasarullahpora to Soibugh and the participants of the grand rally walking on foot, raised high-pitched slogans in favor of martyrs, freedom movement and resistance the rally reached Soibugh Chowk where JKLF leaders addressed it.

Reacting to recent statement of Indian prime minister Narrinder Modi, who while speaking to Indian naval officers, had said that he wanted to change history by talking to Pakistan and that he wanted youth of south Asia to prosper etc, Yasin Malik said that Modi jee should bear in mind that changing history was not possible by suppressing Kashmiris and their aspirations.

He said that Kashmiris were not against Indian economic growth. “We are not against good relations between Pakistan and India and we are only striving for our birthright and want to become partners in peace, prosperity and stability of the world especially south Asia,” he maintained. The JKLF leaders, advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt, Showkat Ahmad Bakshi, Noor Muhammad Kalwal and others addressed the public meeting.
