Division of Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh will not be allowed: Gilani

Srinagar, December 20, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has said that the entire region of Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh is a single geographical entity and its division will not be allowed. Syed Ali Gilani talking to a delegation led by I D Khajuria from Jammu, at his residence in Srinagar, said that attaining of power by BJP, the political wing of RSS, was although increasing the intolerance in India and in the territory but the Kashmir was facing the worst kind of Indian state terrorism since 1947 and the Congress rule was no different from it.

Syed Ali Gilani assured the delegation that the oneness and the uniqueness of Kashmir would be protected and the communal elements would not be allowed to succeed in their nefarious designs. Mentioning the historical background of the Jammu and Kashmir and its disputed nature, the veteran leader said that the partition in 1947 happened on the bases of two nations theory and the Jammu and Kashmir was although a Muslim majority territory so the region was to become a natural part of Pakistan but India sidelined all the moral and partition principles and forcibly occupied the territory with the help of its military might.

He said that the India then itself took the dispute to the UN and the World Body also favoured and recommended right to self-determination for the Kashmiri people, which India had, so far, failed to implement. Syed Ali Gilani said that besides the UN resolutions, the Indian rulers on many occasions had promised the people of Kashmir that they would be given a free and fair chance to decide their future. He said that later India backtracked from its promises which they had made on national and international forums and the freedom movement of Kashmir was the result of those broken promises.

While mentioning the filthy character of Congress party in the creation of Kashmir dispute, the veteran leader said that despite the secular claims, the party had proven to be the most unprincipled and characterless party in India responsible for the miseries of Kashmiri people. Syed Ali Gilani informed the Jammu delegation that present government had practically suspended the law and order in the territory.
