Moid regime planning to remove Basharat Peeri, Agha Shahid’s work from KU curriculum

Srinagar, July 20, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Modi regime is planning to remove world famous literature of Agha Shahid Ali from the university curriculum at University of Kashmir in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The authorities have already removed the literature of Agha Shahid Ali and novelist Basharat Peer from the M.A (English) curriculum at Cluster University in Srinagar.

“While the literature of the duo has been removed at the Cluster University, authorities are considering the removal of Agha’s poetry and Basharat Peer’s novel at KU,” the reports said. Basharat Peer, currently settled in the United States published his award winning novel “Curfewed Night” which was later included in the M.A English curriculum.

The Indian advisors on education in Delhi/Srinagar have claimed that such “Resistance Literature” sustains “plebiscite /azaadi mindset, aspiration and narrative” among students.
