Mysterious Explosion Injures Two Women in Kupwara, Kashmir

Srinagar: Two women sustained injuries from a mysterious explosion in the Gujarpatri area of Kupwara district in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) today. The incident occurred near an Indian army camp, raising concerns about the safety of civilians in proximity to military installations.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the victims, identified as Nahida Akther and Afroza Begum, were near the army camp when the explosion happened. Following the incident, they were rushed to a local hospital in Handwara and subsequently referred to a higher facility in Srinagar for advanced medical treatment.

Indian officials have initiated an investigation to ascertain the nature and cause of the explosion. Preliminary reports suggest that the blast may have been triggered by an anti-personnel landmine, potentially left in the vicinity of the army camp, which the women accidentally encountered.

The ongoing investigation aims to clarify the circumstances surrounding the explosion and address the security risks posed to civilians living near military areas.
