Najam Sethi calls on Prime Minister

Islamabad, June 20, 2013 (PPI-OT): Mr. Najam Sethi, veteran journalist and former caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s Office this afternoon.

Mr. Sethi felicitated the Prime Minister on assumption of his office as the Chief Executive of the country.

The Prime Minister appreciated the role Mr. Sethi’s caretaker administration played in the holding of free, fair and transparent elections in the province of Punjab.

“Pakistan has achieved a democratic milestone by successfully effecting smooth transition of power from one civilian government to another”, said the Prime Minister.

While talking to Mr. Sethi, the Prime Minister said that the government believes in an independent and vibrant media which should actively play its role for the promotion of national cohesion and good governance.
