National Vocational and Technical Education Commission organizing one day Discussion Forum on Development and Implementation

Islamabad: For rapid economic growth in the country through Technical and Vocational Education and Training to youths, National Vocational and Technical Education Commission (NAVTEC) Islamabad, under the directives of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is organizing One day Discussion Forum on Development and Implementation of National Vocational and Technical Qualifications Framework (NVTQF) at its Headquarters tomorrow Monday i.e. 30th May, 2011. The Forum will be started with the opening remarks of Tariq Shafi Chak Executive Director of the NAVTEC.

The Executive Director will brief the participants in his opening remarks about the background, mandate of NAVTEC, major challenges to Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET), National Skill Strategy 2009-13, Provision of Relevant Skills for Industrial and Economic Development, Concept of National Qualifications Framework (NQF), Aims, Objectives and Benefits of NQF, Scope of NQF and Modes of Implementation etc. Chairman Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Punjab Saeed Ahmed Alvi, MD TEVTA Sindh Abdul Whaid Uqali, DG DTE and MT KPK Asimt Ullah Khan Gandapur, Secretary Labour Department Balochistan Abdul Qayyum Kakar, GM Academics TEVTA Punjab Javed Iqbal Malik, Chief Operating Officer TEVTA Punjab Abid Javed, Director DMT Sindh Nazir Ali Syed, Director VT KPK Munir Gul, Director Tech. TEVTA AJK Raja Shoukat Ali Khan, Secretary Education Department Gilgit Baltistan Syed Hadi, Acting DG NISTE Islamabad Sahib Raza Hussnain Kharar, Secretary IBCC Muhammad Ramzan Achakzai and Associate Professor NISTE Islamabad Abdul Majid have confirmed their participation in the Forum, who will deliver their expert opinion on the subject. Executive Director NAVTEC Tariq Shafi Chak will chair the Forum.
