Islamabad: The National Assembly was informed today that the National Wheat Policy 2026-30 has been prepared in consultation with the provinces. Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz told the house during question hour that the policy will be approved by the cabinet before the budget.
According to Radio Pakistan, the government’s action plan for the next fiscal year focuses on a comprehensive agricultural roadmap for mechanization and the establishment of the National Agri Trade and Food Safety Authority to boost exports. The Parliamentary Secretary also highlighted the establishment of a National Seed Development and Regulatory Authority aimed at strengthening and modernizing the seed sector by improving regulation and promoting the development of high yield and climate-resilient crop varieties.
Parliamentary Secretary for National Health Services Nelson Azeem stated that dedicated treatment facilities are being provided to Thalassemia patients in hospitals, which include the provision of safe blood transfusion services.
Responding to a calling attention notice, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhary emphasized the government’s zero tolerance policy on illegal immigration. He reported that since 2023, three thousand, one hundred and fifty-eight agents have been arrested, with actions also taken against FIA officials involved in such crimes. He noted that these efforts against illegal immigration have been acknowledged by the international community.
Regarding the Pakistanis detained in Cambodia, who fell victim to fraudulent overseas employment schemes, the Minister of State for Interior assured that several Pakistanis have been brought back from Cambodia after receiving maximum facilitation.
