NDMA Issues 6-Day Weather Alert Across Pakistan

Islamabad: The National Emergency Operations Center of the National Disaster Management Authority has issued an alert regarding possible weather conditions across the country during the next six days starting from tomorrow.

According to Radio Pakistan, intermittent rains are likely to continue in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit during this period. In Sindh and Balochistan, the weather is expected to be hot and dry, with a slight increase in day temperatures.

Snowfall is also expected in the upper and mountainous areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the next week, while rain with thundershowers, wind, storms, and hailstorms are anticipated in some areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

NDMA has warned that strong winds, lightning, and hail can damage weak structures, trees, and power lines, advising citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during this period. The authority has also urged tourists and travelers to check the weather and road conditions before heading to northern areas.

People can receive timely information in this regard from the official NDMA app ‘Pak NDMA Disaster Alert.’ NDMA has also directed all provincial and district agencies to remain alert to deal with possible weather conditions.
